BWUMC has had a long relationship with Cooper Community Center, a UMC sponsored service providing day care, afterschool care and other supportive services to children and families in the area.  For years we have done a gift project at Christmas. 

26 children grades K through 5 attend the Afterschool Program at Cooper Community Center in Roxbury.  Our summer mission is to collect $$ and items for a gift of back-to-school supplies for each child.

Items:  Please adhere to the list below.  A box for donations is in the Narthex.  

List of School Supplies

•  Washable Markers (No fragrances, please)

• Pencils

• Pencil boxes

• Erasers

• Water bottles (No larger than 20 oz.)

• Folders for loose papers – ‘Trappers’

• NO BACKPACKS IN THIS BOX.  Backpacks will be purchased from $$ donations to be age and gender appropriate for each child.

BOOKS
New or used books in good condition for grades K – 5 will be packaged separately and given to the Center
